What is Peptide Therapy?

Peptides consist of linked amino acids, akin to small proteins, and serve diverse functions in the body such as signaling and messaging. Some function like neurotransmitters, while others mimic hormones. By binding to cell surface receptors, peptides direct cells and molecules, regulating bodily responses to exercise and diet. Their specificity ensures safety, high tolerance, and significant control over physiological reactions.
By January 2015, more than 60 peptide medications had received approval from the US FDA, with 140 undergoing clinical trials and 500 in pre-clinical development. Aging leads to reduced production of vital amino acids and peptides, resulting in signs of aging and suboptimal performance. While most peptide medications are subcutaneously administered, they also exist in transdermal creams, nasal sprays, and oral tablets.

GLP-1 Hormone Therapy

A naturally occurring hormone in the body that plays a key role in regulating blood sugar levels, appetite, and digestion. It is part of the incretin family of hormones released after eating and help manage glucose metabolism. Here’s a breakdown of what GLP-1 does:

  • Stimulates insulin secretion - helping to lower blood sugar

  • Inhibits glucagon release - prevents the liver from releasing sugar

  • Delays gastric emptying - controls appetitive

  • Suppresses appetite - reducing overall hunger

These medications have gained widespread acclaim for their dual ability to manage diabetes and support significant weight reduction, while also delivering profound benefits in improving metabolic health

Types of Peptides

Sermorelin Acetate

Sermorelin, an active analog of growth hormone releasing factor (GRF 1-44), mimics the natural function of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) produced by the brain. Unlike growth hormone itself, Sermorelin acts as a growth hormone secretagogue, stimulating the pituitary gland by binding to specific receptors. This stimulation increases the production and secretion of HGH. In youth, the body naturally produces abundant GHRH, allowing the pituitary gland to supply adequate growth hormone for sustaining health, vitality, and normal human functions.
As individuals age, the decline in GHRH levels leads to decreased production and secretion of pituitary HGH, resulting in growth hormone deficiencies that impact health, stamina, and vitality in later life. Sermorelin therapy involves daily injections of Sermorelin acetate, which stimulates the pituitary gland to naturally increase HGH secretion. Since Sermorelin acetate is deemed safe for children to boost growth hormone production, it's considered safe for adults with growth hormone deficiencies. Dosing is tailored to each individual's specific needs.

BPC 157

BPC 157, a peptide consisting of 15 amino acids, is a partial sequence of body protection compound (BPC) found in human gastric juice. Research has shown its ability to expedite the healing process for various injuries, such as tendon, muscle, nervous system, and ligament damage. Individuals experiencing discomfort from muscle sprains, tears, or injuries may find relief through this peptide treatment. Additionally, it promotes accelerated healing of skin burns and enhances blood flow to damaged tissues.

    • Shields the liver from toxic insults (e.g., alcohol, antibiotics) and promotes liver healing

CJC 1295

CJC-1295, a synthetic GHRH (growth hormone releasing hormone) analogue comprising 30 amino acids, has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in increasing growth hormone secretion and IGF-1 levels without disrupting GH secretion pulsatility. Its combination with Ipamorelin is favored due to CJC-1295's heightened specificity as a GHRH. This peptide yields similar growth hormone increases but avoids appetite stimulation and elevation of cortisol, acetylcholine, prolactin, and aldosterone, commonly associated with other peptides in its category. It is well-tolerated and synergizes perfectly when paired with CJC-1295.

Two types of CJC 1295:

GHRH (growth hormone releasing hormone) originates in the hypothalamus, triggering a pulsatile release of GH from the pituitary gland. However, GHRH's short half-life limits its efficacy. Sermorelin, a manufactured peptide, consists of the first 29 active amino acids of GHRH, but its half-life is brief. To address this, CJC-1295 was developed, extending the half-life to 30 minutes. Further enhancement with DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) increased this to 8 days, yielding CJC-1295 + DAC. Alternatively, a non-DAC formulation mimics normal GH spikes nightly, necessitating fewer injections. While CJC-1295 + DAC allows for weekly injections, maintaining a constant GH level, it may dampen the GH pulse amplitude, reducing tissue stimulation.
    • CJC-1295 enhances growth hormone secretion and IGF-1 levels without increasing prolactin

    • Boosts body weight and length by enhancing protein synthesis

    • Promotes muscle growth and fat loss

    • Accelerates cellular repair and regeneration

    • Encourages slow-wave deep sleep, essential for maximum muscle growth, memory retention, and rejuvenation

Ipamorelin

Ipamorelin, a cutting-edge peptide in the growth factor realm, is recognized as one of the safest GHRP’s. It acts as a selective growth hormone (GH) Secretagogue and Ghrelin receptor agonist, standing out for its enhanced specificity. Unlike other peptides in its class, Ipamorelin prompts similar growth hormone secretion without the usual appetite stimulation and rise in cortisol, acetylcholine, prolactin, and aldosterone. This well-tolerated peptide boasts strength comparable to GHRP-6, marking it as a standout choice.

    • Improved sleep quality

    • Accelerated cellular repair and regeneration

    • Elevated IGF-1 levels

    • Counteracts catabolic effects of glucocorticoids

    • Lower appetite stimulation compared to GHRP-6

    • Reduced release of cortisol, prolactin, and aldosterone

GHRP 2

Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2 (GHRP 2) is a six-amino-acid peptide that stimulates the secretion of endogenous GH. Studies indicate that GHRP 2 can boost GH secretion by 7-15 times by activating ghrelin receptors, leading to increased appetite. Acting as a synthetic ghrelin analogue, GHRP 2 triggers the release of endogenous growth hormone within the somatotropes of the anterior pituitary. Unlike standard GHRH, which amplifies pituitary cell pulsation, GHRP 2 increases the number of somatotropes in a GH pulse by reducing somatostatin levels. Its key effects include GH secretion, appetite enhancement, fat reduction, muscle mass gain, cholesterol level decrease, skin and bone fortification, liver protection, and anti-inflammatory action. GHRP 2 also exhibits immune-boosting and reparative properties. However, it may elevate prolactin, aldosterone, and cortisol levels in some cases, warranting careful consideration before use.

GHRP 6

Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6 (GHRP 6) is not a derivative of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) but is instead a synthetic met-enkephalin analog containing D-amino acids designed for its growth hormone-releasing effects, classified as a growth hormone secretagogue. GHRP 6 is a genuine hGH secretagogue, stimulating the body's natural production of hGH, as demonstrated in studies. Human Growth hormone has been proven to enhance lean body mass and reduce fat. These peptides work via the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, formerly known as the ghrelin receptor, distinct from GHRH. GHRP 6 induces appetite due to its ghrelin-like properties. In therapy, GHRP 6 is used to boost growth hormone production and increase body mass, making it suitable for patients lacking growth hormone and those underweight.
